You may choose to charge a non-refundable deposit as a way of managing your club or fisheries waiting lists, to prevent time wasters and make it more manageable from an admin perspective. To be able to take a payment for the waiting list deposit via Clubmate, you need firstly to set up a product that the person can buy. To do this log in to Clubmate as an owner user and go to "Settings" in the the top right corner,
From the dropdown list select "Products"
On this screen select "Add new product"
Then you'll need to provide the name of the product, if you have multiple waiting lists or venues please list clearly which the product applies to.
From here you'll see the options for the newly created product.
Now you'll need to specify the price for the product, so this will be the deposit amount for the waiting list. You'll also need to specify the VAT (if applicable).
Assign the Stock level to 1000.
You can choose to set the product's availability under the "Available to purchase for" dropdown list. This could prove useful if you only need to offer this product to non-members for example, to save any confusion for existing members. If your exisiting members can apply for waiting lists however select "Non-Members and Members"
You can also assign the product to a group under the "Group" dropdown list, this could prove useful if you had multiple waiting lists for multiple lakes, making it easy to navigate to the correct product within the Till. See this article on Product Groups for further information on how to do this.
Once you've completed this just click "Save changes" in the top right and the product is successfully set up!
