When creating pages & posts, you may want reference an external website or link. Or you may find that another website contains some really interesting content that you feel is too good not to share with visitors of your site too.

Either way, here is how you add a link to a 3rd party site to your post.

Firstly either take a note or copy the URL / web address (eg, www.clubmate.fish/news) of the site you want to share.

Then go to the post or page where you'd like to insert it (or create a new post if required).

Click on Edit Post or Edit PageΒ

Go the Text Block and highlight the text that you would like to use as the hyperlink to the 3rd party page (you could also type some new text or paste the full URL, the principle is exactly the same, just remember to highlight the relevant text).

With the text highlighted, click on the πŸ”— link icon as shown below.

This will open a new box. Now type or paste your URL and then click on the blue enter button.

The colour of the text should now turn blue.Β

Now click Save Changes & Update and the changes will be live.Β

From now on, any visitor clicking on the club text will be automatically directed to the 3rd party website.Β

Note: In the example above, we have chosen to use an existing word as the hyperlink however you may want to make it more obvious for your visitors and add some direction.Β

Here's a few alternatives that achieve the same end result:

Click HERE to read more about Clubmate
or
To read more about Clubmate visit their website: www.clubmate.fish
or
Visit Clubmate to learn more

For all of these, we highlighted the text we wanted to use, clicked on the insert link icon and added the relevant URL. The principle is the same.
