Adding a new Club Water to your website šŸŽ£

Putting a new water on your website

Written by Rob Harris

Each water on your site is its own page, and the quickest way to add one is to copy an existing water so the layout comes free.

1. Log in at yourclub.co.uk/wp-admin and go to Pages.

2. If your Pages list shows a Duplicate link when you hover over a water, click it on the water most like the new one. That's the quickest route.

3. If there's no Duplicate link: open an existing water with Edit with Elementor, click the arrow beside the Update button and choose Save as Template, and give it a name. Then go to Pages, Add New, open the new page in Elementor, click the folder icon, open My Templates, and Insert the template you just saved.

4. Rename the copy to the new water's name and click Edit with Elementor.

5. Work down the page replacing everything: the water's name, the description, pegs, species, directions, rules, and every photo.

6. Click the Publish or Update button (bottom of the panel, or top right on newer editors).

7. Add the new water to your waters listing: open your main Waters page in Elementor, right click an existing water's card, choose Duplicate, then change the copy's photo, name and text, and set its link to the new page (click the card or its button and paste the new page's address into the Link box).

8. Update the Waters page, then check both pages on the live site.

The duplicate and replace method matters: it keeps every water looking consistent, and the only thing worse than no map reference is last year's map reference for the wrong water, so check every line got replaced before you publish.
