We're rolling out a series of improvements designed to make Clubmate faster, clearer, and easier to use. Here’s what’s new and how it helps you:

“Selected Member Options” Menu

A fresh, cleaner design with large icon buttons replaces the old tick-box layout, making common actions like sending messages or adding notes much quicker and easier.
Benefit: Faster navigation, less clutter, and a smoother experience across all devices.

Save Group Messages as Drafts

You can now save emails mid-way and return to them anytime.
Benefit: No more losing long messages if you get interrupted or close the editor by mistake.

Card Removal Confirmation in the Till

Removing a saved payment card now prompts a confirmation.
Benefit: Prevents accidental deletions and saves time re-entering card details.

Clubmate Pay Payment Failure Reasons Displayed

Failed payments now clearly show the reason for decline.
Benefit: Faster resolution for payment issues and reduced reliance on support.

Clubmate App Upgrade

The app has been upgraded to a newer platform version and is now live on iOS and Android.
Benefit: Improved stability, performance, and long-term support for future features.

Member-Initiated Cancellation & Freeze Requests


Members can now submit cancellation or freeze requests directly from the ClubRight or Clubmate member app. Clubs manually approve all requests before any changes take effect.
Benefit: Reduces admin workload, encourages member self-service, and gives clubs full control over policy application.

Location-Based Check-In / Check-Out

Staff can now check members into specific locations
Benefit: Better oversight of where members are at any time, improved staff accountability, and faster resolution of incidents or lost-equipment queries.

Two-Way In-App Messaging


Members can now reply to messages directly in the app or start new conversations via a WhatsApp-style chat interface. Staff receive replies in the dashboard Message Centre.
Benefit: Seamless real-time communication that keeps all messages in one place and strengthens member engagement.

Important Update: Email System Improvements

We’ve strengthened our email delivery system to protect deliverability for all clients.

Two Email Types

  • Club Communication: Essential messages (receipts, confirmations, membership updates).
    → Sent automatically to active, frozen, or renewable-expired members.

  • Marketing Mailing: Newsletters, promotions, events.
    → Only sent to members who’ve given consent.

What You Need to Do

  • The first time you send a message, you’ll be asked to accept our updated email guidelines.

  • Owners must set marketing consent options if not already configured.

  • You’ll see exactly how many members will receive any group message before sending.

Better Member Protection

If a member marks emails as spam or their address repeatedly bounces, the system will limit what they receive and warn you before sending.

Benefit: More reliable email delivery and stronger protection for your club’s sender reputation.
