How to Set Up Age Restrictions for an Event

Ensure Bookings Are Limited to the Right Members

Written by Owain Rees

Easily control access to bookable activities with Clubmate’s Age Restrictions feature, ensuring only members within the correct age range can make bookings.

Why Use This Feature?

Additionally, this feature can be part of a broader access control strategy, allowing clubs to manage bookings for exclusive or restricted events effectively.

  • Prevent Incorrect Bookings – Ensure age-restricted activities are booked only by eligible members.

Use Case Example

An angling club offers a Junior coaching session for 12–16-year-olds.

How It Works:

  1. The session is set to Age Restricted (12–16).

  2. A 14-year-old can book ✅, but a 10-year-old is blocked ❌.

  3. A 17-year-old sees a notification directing them to an adult session.

Ideal for:

Exclusive Events – Manage access to restricted activities effectively.

Junior Coaching Sessions – Ensure young anglers participate in age-appropriate sessions.

Safety & Progression – Prevent younger/older members from booking unsuitable activities.

This keeps sessions structured and appropriate for all participants.
