When it comes to joining or renewing with your club, your members will have different ideas on how they want to sign up. Some may want to carry on using paper, others will want to sign up face to face but there will be plenty who find it more convenient to join online instead. Clubmate helps you manage all of these scenarios however this article shows you what a member sees when they join online.

The member experience

When a new member arrives at the Clubmate log in page,  they will need to add some details.

Your potential member will need to enter their information as shown, review & agree to your clubs T&C's plus Privacy Policy and then click continue.

They will then be prompted with your clubs Contact Preferences & will need to select from your Marketing Sources.

Once they have agreed to these, they will have access to their online members area.

They can now choose whether to start a new membership, make a booking or view more details about your club.

If they start a new membership, they will need to select the relevant membership plan

Before being prompted to add their personal details and upload a profile photo. For clubs using our ID card service, this is the photo that is printed on the card.

*member photos are not mandatory

Should your club offer any 'bolt ons' for a member to purchase (eg, donations, map books, night permits etc.) then they will be able to select these now.

*If your club does not offer any bolt-ons then this screen will not appear.

And then finally their payment details:

Once the payment has been added, the member will be sent a confirmation email advising them of all of the details of their membership. This email is customisable as per your clubs requirements. For more info see - Automated Member Emails

The member will now be directed back to the members area where they can update their personal details, change their password, edit their payment card details, start a new membership or make a booking.

Members can also purchase a membership on behalf of someone else. To do this they must select 'Add another member/child'. See Online Multi-Person Profiles for more detail.

Done! ✅

You can also see a short video highlighting the process too 🙂

Simulating the member experience for yourself

If you'd like to simulate the member experience for yourself then you will need to register a separate Clubmate account but using a different email address.

Just go to your clubs registration link, add some dummy information and a different email address (this cannot be the same as your Admin user email account).

You can then walk through each of the steps.

Please note that if you enter your payment card details then it will process a live transaction. Whilst the payment can be refunded back to your card, it will still attract a transaction fee. We therefore recommend setting up a free 'test' membership plan if you'd like to see the end to end experience.

*if you are using the Three Peaks demo account then enter the promo code: test and you'll be able to process a free committee membership.
