It can be challenging being a volunteer of a club, life is busy and often gets in the way of carrying out your role effectively. It's therefore highly likely that committee members will come and go over time (especially when you're not using a system like Clubmate to make life easy πŸ˜‰).

So in this article we will show you how to update committee members details on your website.Β

Here is a video (2min 43s) on how to add, edit & delete committee members and there are some written instructions underneath.

NOTE: For the purpose of this article, we will now refer to Committee Members as Team Members.

First of all make sure you are logged in to the Admin section of your website. You will know if you are logged in or not as you will see the menu bar at the top of the screen:

There are two ways to do update the details, either using WPBakery Page Builder or by using the Backend Editor. For this example, we will show you how to update their details using the Backend Editor option.Β

  • First click on Edit Page

Now scroll down to the committee info section of this page. You'll see the hashtag #committee-info at the top of this section.

To add a new Team Member, the simplest method is to clone an existing members details and then edit. Β

  • To clone an existing member, hover over any Team Member box. When you do this, you will see a green bar appear. Now click the symbol showing two boxes (as highlighted below)

This will create an identical clone of the original Team Member directly underneath.

Updating a Team Members details

You are now free to update the new Team Members details. To do this, once again hover over the Team Member box but now click the Pencil symbol which enables you to Edit.

After clicking Edit, a new box will open up allowing you to update the new Team Members details.

First of all, let's update the Photo of the Team Member.Β

Click on the green plus symbol next to the existing image.

You will now be taken to the Media Library where you can select an existing image or add a new one. To add a new one, click on Upload File and follow the prompts.

To select an existing image (or one you've just added), click on the image and ensure that the Tick box is now displayed in the top right corner.Β

Now navigate to the bottom right corner and click ' Set Image'. This will now replace the existing image βœ…

You can now update the relevant details for the Team Member.Β

  • Name

  • Position

  • Description *this is where you can add their contact info (this is optional)

If you'd like to display the Team Members Social Networks, you can update these by clicking on the Social Networks tab at the top and then add/remove any relevant details.

Once this is done, click 'Save Changes'.

You can Preview your changes by clicking on 'Preview Changes'.

If you're happy with the changes then click on Update and your live site will reflect the new committee members details.Β
